Congratulations to Victoria and Martin, who married in an intimate ceremony at First Bay in Coolum.

This love story began at Leeds University, UK, when Martin spotted Victoria at the student cafeteria.

Events by Design met with Victoria & Martin in December 2008. After viewing various ceremony sites, they decided that the beach that meant the most to them was where they had holidayed on numerous occasions over the years.

With First Bay as our inspiration, we chose little seaside trinkets to create their dream wedding. Coastal decor such as sea shells, coral, driftwood and a vintage surfboard completed their kitsch beachside celebration.

Pulling up in a statement orange Kombi van (nicknamed the beautiful Sophia!), Victoria and her bridesmaids looked simply stunning. The girls wore Tiffany blue strapless dresses and the Bride a full princess gown and veil.

First Bay offers a really sweet ceremony site, with a meandering footpath down to the waters edge. It was a pretty picture, with the couple barefoot on the sand as the waves lapped up behind them...the wedding canopy billowing out. And then, just as Celeste pronounced them husband and wife, the rain swept in. But this couple, with their quick humour and fun spirit, didn’t let it dampen their day...it was so lovely watching the video to see their smiling faces throughout the swift change of ceremony site, up under cover to Point Perry. As Murphy’s Law predicted, as soon as we arrived at Point Perry the sun came out to play again!

Following the ceremony, all guests were transported by bus into Noosa, where they rode the Noosa Ferry before a sit down dinner reception at Berardos Bistro and an after party at the Flamingo Bar.
